The Menai Suspension bridge (Anglesey, Wales, 1826), was the design of Thomas Telford, a Scottish Civil Engineer. Telford is one of those guys who’d probably be sat next to J-Bizzle at a dinner party for extraordinary engineers. As for the bridge itself, steel links traverse the arc of the towers, with no safety lines ofcourse.
From the road, the towers aren’t exceptionally high, but climbing the suspension links on your ascent exposes you to the huge expanse of the Menai Strait. There are always small things you notice when you climb, the level of detail into the construction and even repairs of the bridge are astounding. Shouts to Frainey.
